INTERNSHIPS

Are you looking for a way to break into the fast-paced world of politics?  Are you dedicated to the ideals and principles of the Democratic Party?  The Marion County Democratic Party is seeking motivated and talented individuals to serve as interns at our headquarters in downtown Indianapolis.  MCDP Interns will gain valuable experience in local politics and will have the opportunity to play a vital role in our efforts to win the Mayor’s Office, retake the City-County Council, and secure victories in the cities of Lawrence and Beech Grove in 2011.

DESCRIPTION
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.  Internships are awarded in the following departments:

  • Political
  • Fundraising
  • Communications
  • Operations

RESPONSIBILITIES
Level of involvement depends on the individual’s interest and time availability. 15-20 hours per week is required.

Projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Administrative operations
  • Meeting, campaign, and special events planning
  • Party services: constituent services, mailing, and phone banking
  • Volunteer outreach and coordination
  • Voter registration, outreach, and mobilization

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Committed to the Democratic Party ideals and values
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Basic computer and office competency
  • Organized and capable of managing multiple projects
  • Work well independently and as a member of a team
